From  Walking This Way

Lord and Lady of the Struggle

Ancient lives

Stars under illuminated skies

Cloaked in ermine

You turn and smile

Riding your favorite steed

Next to mine

Are we really here, my love?

Lord and lady of the struggle

Castle in the distance

Moon on our sleeves

Golden sun in the fields

Banners in the breeze

Wave good-bye

Ruby and sapphire

Conquer distand lands

You ride away

I'm watching from the tower

Are we really here, my love?

Lord and lady of the struggle

Castle in the distance

Moon on our sleeves

Golden sun in the fields

The festive procession

Minstrals and jugglers

Follow behind

Ladies waiting in vivid colors

Fade into the misty

Storybook pages

Were we really there, my love?

Lord and lady of the struggle

Castle in the distance

Moon on our sleeves

Golden sun in the fields

Restless Heart

Restless heart

Lying awake on her bed

Only sound that she hears

Is her tears

Wishing hard

Don't bring anything around

Only wish you could somehow

Forget

I can't believe that its come so undone

Leaving no room for any doubt

Be unafraid

Be the one holding out

Holding on to your heart

As it breaks

Sensing a cloud

Feeling only the rain

Knowing you are the one

Left to blame

Here on the shore is a boat that won't go

Look how you let the tide run out

From  Arizona Moon

Set Me Down Slowly

Set me down kind of slowly

It's gonna take me quite a while

To seek what's behind me

Press my hands, hesitate

Just realized, no need to stay

But please don't remind me

A taxi glides through dawn's cold air

A city sleeps in shades of grey

In colors that define me

Pale sunrise, sudden day

Breaks the light across my bed

Scattered shapes that divide me

Arizona Moon

On a cold Arizona day

Watch orange clouds turn to gray

And the night falls like an aching heart

So dark

In the warm Navajo sands

Patterns circle wizened hands

Your enemies confused and frayed

Motives displayed

In a black Arizona night

All things lost made right

But the shadows will come again

Crazy old man

From  Unbroken Silence

Unbroken Silence

His house sits on Maryland's shore

With a clock that don't run anymore

It tells of a time when he was happy

When they would sing and that ocean roared

But now there's only the silence

of a sea gone still

She's only a moment away

With that clock stopped in time

She feels so near

Late in the afternoon each day

You can watch him walk along the Bay

And in the night you can hear the notes

Of the strings that don't play anymore

And breaking through the silence

Her voice 'come alive

She's only the harmony away

This is how the time goes by

My time goes by

Windows and wide open doors

You can walk right in, but no one's home

There's a place where he can go

Where the water ends and the sun sinks low

And shinging through the fading light

Her face in his mind

She's always the last one he sees

With the day, the first in his eyes

Always, the first in my eyes

In Burgundy

Look through the window

See the light

Everything is Burgundy

Pictures on the wall

Framed in evergreen

Climb the stairs

Go down the hall

Portraits hang unseen

Lace curtains candlelight

See the bedroom

Painted white

Sheets ruffled on the floor

Brass door knobs open doors

Don't turn around

What you might think

Surrounded in burgundy

Paisley papered borders

Cherrywood

Darkened lashes

Velvet hoods

Mirrors showing only lies

Lipstick red shadowed eyes

Lit candles firelight

Figures moving

Out of sight

Curtains swaying in the breeze

Soft rustle in the trees

One or two

will show surprise

Turn away or close their eyes

Is it simple, is it right?

To open windows

In the night

  From  Boat To Forever

Boat To Forever

You and me, stepping free

Can't wait to see where it leads

Playing hide and seek on the playground

Easy, like a breeze

I'm in love

For the first time

Seeing your

Hazel eyes

Now and then, we look to see

If paper planes can really be

and submarines keep us dry

Or will the surf leave us high

And what is it, do you suppose

That keeps us on the silver boat

And what was said about the bees

That gets us through the stormy seas

Therese

Therese walks alone every season

Through snow and the mud, yeah, every season

I watch her pass, and make any reason

I tell you I watch her, every season

Won't you come, hold my hand, stand closer

the more I feel the warmth of your face in the sun

She washes her hair, the cold water streaming

With her blue dress on, she goes skipping

In the old stone church, I sit not breathing

With all eyes on her, but she does see them

Won't you come, hold my hand, stand closer

the more I feel the warmth of your face in the sun

Therese is my love, and soon she will notice

I stand by her side, everyone knows this

And no one will hurt her, I'll see to it

I wait in the rain, till she comes to me

Come to me, soft kisses blowing like

leaves in the trees that bend in the rain this day
